Adding emotional factor can be very effective, especially for people who are emotionally suggestible. The Four Things To Include In A Successful Self Hypnosis Session

Self hypnosis has become a very effective way to train your subconscious mind which will allow you to finally meet your own personal goals. You can use it to help you achieve a multitude of things such as:

1) Get Realistic

Do not, however, believe that you can achieve anything you want. Self-hypnosis will not increase your chances of winning the lottery or make you grow taller. You must choose realistic goals. 2) Get Specific

Let's assume that you have a goal that you're having trouble achieving, such as losing weight. Instead of saying, "I am going to exercise more", try a more specific approach like; "I enjoy going for a 45minute walk every morning". Try this approach for a month and you can see a change in your mindset and daily patterns. Don't be surprised if you start to wake up in the morning excited about going for a walk.

3) Get A Timeframe

If your goal is to stop smoking then you need to set a timeline so that you can focus your efforts and measure what you have accomplished. If you do not have any form of timeline, then you will have no idea how well you are doing and in the end, you will lose your focus and motivation.

Some types of goals such as increasing self confidence or becoming less shy, timelines can be difficult to create. If there is no way to quantify your efforts, you need to make it a daily focus and simply recognize when and how you are making progress. If you do not recognize that you are getting better, you will soon lose the motivation to succeed.

4) Get Repetitive

You goals become easier to accomplish if you repeat your suggestions in the form of affirmations while in a waking state. This will reinforce the idea because it is recognized by both your conscious and subconscious mind. This will make it even easier to attain your goals.

Using Covert Hypnosis To Control Others

Covert Hypnosis is the ability to hypnotize people without them ever knowing it. With hypnosis you can manipulate another person's psyche and influence his or her decision making process, desires, wishes, and perception. So I think you might already know some about what caovert hypnosis is capable of, but here I need to address some of the limitations built into covert hypnosis, some of the myths that people have around hypnosis. People do think that covert hypnosis is an all-powerful force that controls people's minds, is capable of leaping tall buildings, and doing all kinds of crazy things. As a hypnotist you really need to understand what you can achieve, and what the limits are to what is possible with hypnosis. One of the first limits is this idea of mind control. Mind control hypnosis does not exist. When someone is hypnotized, they are not your slave. They are not someone who has to do everything you tell them to. In hypnosis they merely want to do more of the things you suggest to them. However, ther e are limits. For example, you cannot get someone to break their moral code under covert hypnosis. You can't force someone to commit a crime like murder or theft if they wouldn't be willing to do that crime under normal circumstances anyway. The reverse is also true. You can't treat criminal behavior with just covert hypnosis. You need to have the person's will included in the process. If someone is, for example, a kleptomaniac - that is to say, someone who has to keep stealing things, but they want to stop stealing - then hypnosis can be used tremendously well. If someone is a thief and doesn't care about being a thief, then hypnosis will do nothing to change that person. If it worked differently then we wouldn't need prisons. We would just send hypnotists in and we'd solve all those problems that are currently faced by the prison population. In covert hypnosis, your mind is still under your control. The difference is that in covert hypnosis you get to experience things that you otherwise would not allow you rself to experience. As a result, you get to enjoy a different kind of life. You get to test out what life would be like if the world was different. If you like it, you get to keep it.

How To Change Your Life For The Better With Self Hypnosis

We have all seen it before, the Hollywood version of hypnosis, the usual weird looking guy swirling a pocket watch in front of the person he is trying to hypnotize and telling him to do his bidding. Well it may be entertaining but it is quite far from the truth.

Unfortunately this cinematic representation of hypnosis is what's causing people to doubt the power of hypnosis and to be afraid to try it. They are afraid that if they get hypnotized that they will be in the control of the hypnotist. This notion is also far from the truth, the fact is even in hypnosis the person being hypnotized is always in control, whatever it is the hypnotist says or commands, if the person does not want to do it they will not do it.

However, whatever we say it will not change the misconception done by Hollywood. But the good thing is you can do self hypnosis, you can by yourself put yourself in a trance and hypnotize yourself to be a better person. Below I have listed down some basics steps on how to do self hypnosis.

Step 1 - Find a quiet place where there is no disturbances.

Step 2 - Sit down in comfortable chair and begin to say to yourself that you will start to relax.

Step 3 - Stare at a specific spot on the wall, this is called 'eye fixation', then tell to yourself quietly that your eyes are getting heavy and that they will start to close, and that they will only open when you tell them to.

Step 4 - Now take deep breathes, your first 3 breathes is to relax yourself, the next 3 is to move on to hypnosis state and the next breathes is during the state of hypnosis.

Step 5 - Start from your head or at your toes and part by part relax each body part, relaxing the muscles and taking away the stress.

Step 6 - Once you have completely relaxed count to 10, each count taking you closer to a place where you feel relaxed, safe, and comfortable. A place where you feel happy, a place where anything you want can come true. Really feel the place take in the wind, touch things, act like you are really there.

Step 7 - Now start to say positive suggestions to yourself, things that you want to do, thing you want to change, habits you want to stop.

Once you are ready to step out of the hypnosis, just count 10 to 1 while telling yourself that you have enjoyed the relaxation and that all the benefits of the session will stay with you. Once you have reached one, wake up and enjoy the benefits of self hypnosis.

How Self Hypnosis Will Help You

There's an old Chinese proverb that states: "One picture is worth a thousand words." In conveying suggestions to the subconscious, we have found that picture images are more effective than the words that are implanted. For example, it isn't sufficient to say, "I will be confident." The words must be augmented by a picture of yourself as the confident person you want to be. If you say, "I can't visualize myself as a confident person because I have never been that way," you can "borrow" those personality traits that you want for yourself. Imagine yourself endowed with the characteristics of some confident person that you know. The qualities that you seek may even be borrowed from a famous person. If this isn't possible, make up a personality which is a composite of all the things you want to be. See yourself walking, talking and carrying on activities. Keep fortifying this image with the mental suggestions that are needed. It won't be long before these mental impressions give rise to the confident feelings tha t you seek. As you keep implanting these images, they will become a natural part of your conscious personality. Many people expect immediate results when they begin to use self-hypnosis. If they don't get the results they anticipated immediately, they want to know "what's wrong?" My answer is usually that "nothing is wrong" and that they need only keep at it. Certainly, you don’t become a proficient musician, actor or athlete because you have mastered the basic techniques. It takes time to acquire proficiency and results. Let me assure you that anyone using and applying this technique can benefit from it. One of the troubles in dealing with any problem is getting past resistance. You can incorporate posthypnotic corrective measures in the suggestions that you give yourself. However, I believe that they must be dealt with on a conscious level as well. You must believe that you can conquer your difficulties no matter how long you have had them. If you are prepared to work with self-hypnosis in a consistent ma nner, you will achieve the self-help that you seek. Now and then, you can anticipate a setback in your progress, but this should not discourage you from your overall task. Resistance is an indication that you are growing and reaching outside your comfort zone. Recognize this and you will begin to greet resistance positively, as an indication that your therapy is working. Then you can simply release it with love and continue on your progress. Recognize and be grateful for the progress you have already made. If you have a "let-down" because you expected quicker and more dramatic results, remember that this is a common feeling. Remember, also, how long you have had the problem. No doubt, you have tried other methods and became discouraged because you weren't making the progress you had anticipated. You dropped the idea and landed back where you started. Make up your mind, consciously, that you will work with untiring sincerity and perseverance. I know of no therapy that leads straight to positive results with out obstacles and intermittent setbacks. Success comes in spite of intervening failures because the ultimate direction has been clearly thought out and charted. Self-hypnosis will finally work because you are constantly conditioning your subconscious to react in a positive, constructive manner. The program must, of necessity, become automatic in nature. When it does, you will suddenly find yourself feeling the way you wanted to and doing the things that you set out to do with the aid of self-hypnosis. You actually cultivate those feelings that you want. Self-hypnosis works because we are able to condition ourselves to various stimuli. We condition ourselves consciously and unconsciously to many activities. When we experience anxiety, it stems from a conditioning process which could have been conscious or unconscious. In self-hypnosis, the individual consciously works toward implementing and strengthening his own inherent strength and resources. These objectives, when attained, result in feelings of confidenc e, relaxation, self-mastery and well-being. Furthermore, hypnosis utilizes a natural mental process. We all know that placebos work very well in numerous cases. The dictionary defines the word placebo as, "an inactive substance or preparation, administered to please or gratify a patient, also used in controlled studies to determine the efficiency of medicinal substances." Many controlled experiments have shown that people achieve similar results whether they take a placebo (which they think is the real medication) or real medication that was prescribed. Many such tests have been carried out with antihistamines to prevent colds. The results were always the same. We are interested in what makes the placebo act as effectively as the true medication. It stands to reason that a chain reaction is set up, actually causing a physiological result from a psychological reaction. The unsuspecting patient declares, "I've never felt so good in my life." Yet, this would never have happened if he didn't think he was taking the marvelous new medicine. A recent scientific study by one of the leading pharmaceutical houses concluded that one third of the effectiveness of any medication depends upon the faith and trust that the patient has in the prescribing physician. I am sure that the placebo results and the patient's faith in the physician as contributing factors to the effectiveness of medications do not come as a revelation. We are all aware of such information. Our problem is how to harness this unconscious process for constructive goals. The answer is through self-hypnosis.
